Works missing or not located

  • Landscape at Brusq; painting, H. 75 x L. 87 cm - Inv. 11914 - On deposit since 11/21/1931 at the French Embassy in Warsaw (Poland). Disappeared after the destruction of the building during the Second World War. Corner of a farm in Dordogne (1948); painting, H. 60 x L. 73 cm - Inv. 21348 - On deposit since 11/16/1949 at the Algiers Museum (Algeria). The painting no longer appears in this museum and has left no trace in the archives. Perhaps it disappeared when the museum was plasticized by the OAS or was repatriated to France. Landscape in Sanary (1937); painting, H. 60 x L. 73 cm. The painting was purchased by the French state in 1939. There is a photo of it (see below) in Paul Welsch's archives on the back of which he noted that the painting was in the Albi museum (information reproduced by Bénézit). The museum is no longer in possession of the painting and its archives keep no trace of it.
